Cancelling benefits but still deducting fees

Discovery vitality, according to Virgin Active, cancelled my Vitality benefit 12 months ago without any notification to me.
I agreed to Vitality membership initially for one reason only; favourable gym fees. Nevertheless Discovery Vitality continued to deducted monthly subscription fees whist also cancelling my benefit with the gym. Why I was not consulted prior to this consultation remains unclear - as is their motive for continuing to deduct fees for Vitality membership.
This is blatant exploitation and thus no wonder that their call centre cannot provide any explanation; despite promising to do so with 3 working days. In the interim I am out of pocket with over R4500!!
