I'VE BEEN WITH DISCOVERY HEALTH FOR 8 YEARS NOW AND THE SERVICE RECEIVED WAS GREAT, HOWEVER THE LAST 2 YEARS THE SERVICE HAS DISSAPERED INTO THIN AIR. WITH MY 1ST BORN (AS YOU KNOW THE DOCTOR MEDICAL AID CONTROVERSY IS ALWAYS A PAINFUL RUN A ROUND) BUT THE HELP I RECEIVED FROM DISCOVERY THEN WAS EXCEPTIONAL. NOW WITH MY SECOND IT SEEMS AS THOUGH DISCOVERY HAS TAKEN THE SAME STANCE AS THE DOCTORS. I CALLED THE AUTHORISATIONS DEPARTMENT AND ALL THEY HAVE TO SAY IS 'NOT OUR PROBLEM, YOU HAVE TO SPEAK TO YOUR DOCTOR' WHERE PREVIOUSLY AN AGREEMENT WAS REACHED WITH MY DOCTOR AND DISCOVERY THROUGH THE CALL CENTER AGENT! I THEN CALLED THE CALL CENTRE AND WAS ADVISED WHAT THE AUTHORISATIONS DEPARTMENT SAYS IS FINAL, THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO! ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS - THE DOCTOR vs MEDICAL AID FIGHT IS GETTING OLD NOW AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS ASAP - NOT WORTH PAYING MEDICAL AID ANYMORE!!!
