Looked for a nice place to stay for the wkend for our anniversary (somewher where the kids will have fun). Hluhluwe Protea hotel seemed perfect. The website said there is a kidzone with plaststion, trampoline, jungle gyms. The website also mentioned that it is a carefree zone with babysitters and people on duty until 9pm - so we could enjoy our rest. We got here and the jungle gym is falling apart, there was No playstation or trampoline. When I enquired about babysitters they said they used to do it but they will see if they can find someone. So my 12 year old had nothing to do, neither did the 2 year old and with a newborn baby this was now the worst start to what was supposed to be Our anniversary. Long story short I tried to put my kids to sleep - I am still lying here awake in my room with a terrible noise in the roof. Sounds like someone moving furniture around above our head. Phoned reception to come out - they sorry there is nothing they can do about it - it is the air vents in the roof. I am not going to get any sleep tonight and my 2 year old keeps waking up crying because of the noise. I am not staying another night. I cannot wait to leave. Nicely ruined anniversary
