Suspicious calls

My mother spent the night at the Fire and Ice hotel in Cape Town on 22 May 2013.During the night she received many suspicious phone calls that came from inside the hotel. She picked up the call and there was a strange man on the other line whispering and asking whether he could speak to her... When she asked who it was he did not answer. When she dropped the call, he continued phoning. She later picked up again and it was the same man whispering... She eventually took the phone off the hook; however she was thoroughly traumatised and scared by that. She felt completely unsafe from that point and DID NOT enjoy her stay at the hotel. She reported the incident to your reception the next day, they denied that the calls came from the hotel and just said "this kind of thing has never happened at the hotel before". They mentioned to her that all calls to rooms first go through their reception first. They were not interested in investigating where and who made those calls. They did not apologise for the inappropriate calls either. She felt really unsafe at the hotel and could not sleep thereafter. Why did they think not to pull up the records of the room? Why brush off a qenuine complaint?!!
