4 Months for code to be corrected

I was admitted to Netcare Pretoria East Hospital for childbirth on 22 September 2012. I stayed and paid for a private room, and my medical aid wanted to reimburse me for this payment. Due to faulty coding on the invoice, I could not be reimbursed by the Medical aid. I took it up with the billing department, and asked for the code to be corrected, as it was incorrectly billed (as with many cases, according to billing dept). It took them 4 months to correct this! How is it possible that one code could not be corrected in 4 months? And when I contacted the hospital (for the 100th time), I was told that they did not feel like being bothered with this before going on holiday! This conduct is unprofessional. All my bills in the last 8 years has been paid in full, Pretoria East hospital never had to make as much as 1 phone call to ask for their money, why am I being treated like this? I am still waiting as the payment will only reflect next week. Please help me understand why this took so long?
