I applied to add a dependent by sending forms through our HR at work midthrough of Feb. On 23_Feb the money got deducted from my account before I even got confirmation of acceptance of membership. A week later I got a text informing me of acceptance. As the text sms did not specify any conditions, I went to see one of the Bonitas consultants (Avril) on 12th March who then notified me that the membership certificate had a few exclusions and 3 months waiting period (which means the policy was to take effect on May 1st. I told her that none of the exclusions were communicated to me and the certificate was not sent to me as yet. I then told her I would like the policy to be terminated effective immediately and she asked me to send an email, which I sent the very same day. When I asked her about the contributions I have already paid, she told me it should be refunded as the policy was not in effect yet and as I was not given an opportunity to go ahead or cancel the contract in light of the exclusions. After, all these Bonitas continued to deduct money from my account (March and April) and they sent me confirmation of termination as at 1May. HR just told me there will be no refund.
