I went to Makro to buy Bonitas Gouda cheese and Lancewood Cheddar cheese and Wekkingtons sweet chillie sauce.
At the friges the cheese were marke R135-99 ans R118 per kilo respectivley.
At the till the cheese were R134-95 and R120-15 per kilo. They said this was already dicounted so I cannot receive my pensioners discount. So the cheesa was marginal cheeper at the till, than marked at the fridge.
Last month the cheese was marked the same and I got my pensioners dscount on the Gouda cheese of at least R25. No at the till they say it is on special (not on the shelve) and because of that I loose my pensioners dicount.
The storage manager cane, and verify my previous purchase, He agree with my facts, but say he canot do anuthing, the system is now programmed as a dicount.
The sweet xhillie sauce was in Jan on a special - 1 bottle for R29. Today it is on a special 2 bottles for R86 (this is more than the normal price). Today I must pay R46 for one bottle and because it is a so-called special I cannot get pensioners dscount.
Is this the was Makro is treating its customers and specially their older pensioners? DO Makro prefer us to shop somrehere else?
