Family Chef

We bought 2 Family Chef (halogen oven) from Ideal Trading in Vereeniging one made a noise when you lifted the lid. As we believed in the product we arranged 2 more for friends. The 2nd batch arrived and again 1 did not work. We then paid to send the 2 damaged ones back - so we paid shipping down/back. The 2 'new ones' arrived and again 1 worked and 1 had a damaged handle. The cost per unit is R 790.00 plus transport of R 350.00.
We called the company on Sunday and was told that the mobile number we used was a private number - yet is is advertised on the internet under contacts - and to call back Tuesday 2nd. A few minutes the father called (family business I believe) and he asked what I expected for R 790.00 as Makro sold a simliar product for just over R 1 000.00 and he suggested I send the broken cooker back and they would refund me and never want to deal with me again.
I am amazed as no matter how much you spend you expect to get the goods in proper working order with not a scratch or damage, yet these people are of the opinion that the buyer should be thankful that you are getting something similar to other shops products and at a cheaper price albeit it brocken. Stay away!
