Useless samsung battery life

I bought a samsung galaxy s4 last year september and i had no problems with the phone until recently, the battery has started to swell, heat up and switch off randomly, i constantly have to keep charging the phone and cant load any applications cause it switches off even if i charge it. i am very disappointed with the battery and never expected this from samsung. and even trying to get help is difficult as neither vodacom (where i bought the phone) or samsung is willing to help.
