A24/7 Electrical & Plumbing
Excessive charges and double-charging

Electronics and household app.

My electrical distribution board (DB) was hit by lighting and the Earth Leakage burnt, as well as a cable connecting a subsidiary DB to the main DB. I called A24/7 Electrical and Plumbing and David responded on 1 Jan 2014 to replace the Earth Leakage. For this he charged me R2, 500. He returned the following day, 2 Jan 2014, to replace the burnt cable at R4, 800. This is a total of R7, 300.
The newly installed Earth Leakage tripped on 11 Jan and I could not get it up. I called David and he promptly arrived, opened the main DB cover, tinkered for a minute and closed the cover again. All works. It took an astounding 3 minutes from time of arrival to resetting the Earth Leakage. He said that I can't do the reset, only he can.
I requested David to give me a quote to rewire my entire house and I was ready to give the go-ahead for this week at a cost of R39k... until David handed me an invoice for R838 to reset the Earth Leakage which he replaced a few days before.
I called 24/7 Electrical on Monday, hoping to speak with someone more reasonable and was put in touch with David, who I learned then was the part-owner of the business. David threatened me with ITC listing if I don't pay.
