Warranty is meaningless

My Samsung fridge gave problems - was making very loud noises and LCD display also broke. I called the customer service call centre on the 30th of June 2013. At this stage my fridge was still in warranty. They confirmed my fridge to be in warranty and that they will log a service request, and I must wait for someone to call me within 48 hours. 48 hours passed, on the 4th of July I follow up. Call centre says that the service department must be busy and I need to be patient, they will call, which they don't. The noise reduced so I don't follow up again. Since then the fridge has gradually lost its ability to cool until last week it does not cool at all anymore. Follow up again. Call centre tells me to "reset" the fridge by switching it off for a day and then see if that makes a difference. It doesn't. Follow up again, and ask why no one has since come out. Customer service refers me to service centre. Phone service centre. They say they are waiting for approval from head office. I phone head office, they say claims is denied as the fridge is now out of warranty even though they acknowledge that I logged the original request it was in warranty! Lesson: never buy Samsung
