I purchased a Samsung fridge on the 13-2-2010 from Masons in Benoni which makes the unit approximately 3 years and 5 months old. The fridge is a double door with ice and water dispenser at a cost of R 9500.
The unit broke down once during the warranty period which was repaired be Darro Electronics.
Earlier this year the fridge broke down for the second time, and I was told it was the compressor which has a 5 year warranty, No stock, so I sat without a fridge for over a month. The Compressor was replaced and we had to pay for the regas which is acceptable. 2 weeks later the fridge broke down again, and then shortly after again.
The unit has failed 8 times since purchase in the time mentioned above. Darro electronics now tell me the fridge is irreparable, and I must submit all documents and samsung will process a buyback on the unit.
All in all my family has been without a fridge for over two months this year. I have called samsung the call center gives the standard reply "I don't Know" or "I cant say when" Darro is the same, I even went to Masons where the fridge was purchased, to see if they carry some weight with Samsung, No Reply, The people in these company's, don't seem to care.
