Unwilling to accept warranty

So I bought one of these Ellies multi plugs that guarentees R30K against lightning damage. But I forgot to file the paperwork within their stipulated time of 30 days. They came back with the below response. It is my opinion that if they had any trust in their products at all, they wouldn't take the first opertunaty to bail out. Furthermore, why fill in such a form at all? Why cannot the multiplug be utilized as a generic plug on any device? How many people out there actually have a static multiplug that is not plugged out and used on other devices as well. Herewith their response:

Your warranty is no longer valid as you have exceeded the stipulated
time frame for sending it in
