TV not even 3 years old but already faulty

I bought my plasma TV in 2010 I think june, and last month it just switched off and never wanted to play again. I took the TV to Liptronic in Parow on the 27/07/2013. I called this morning to get an update on what is going on, they told me its panel depreciation. They advised me that the TV would need to be fixed which is quite costly and might as well replace it. This is not on. I bought my SONY plasma same time as the samsung one and that is playing just fine. I do not purchase thing to replace in 2 years time. I am disgusted at samsung and thought it was quite a good brand, clearly not
