Door boot for washing machine no longer available

Electronics and household app.

The door boot on my 6 year old Lava-Combo 1100 is damaged and I contacted AEG Electrolux to get a replacement. Rajen Chetty immediately indicated that this may be a problem as they do not have stock of this rubber but that he would look into it for me. A few days later (and a few emails and phone calls) Rajen informs me via email that: "I have just been advised by Jay Moodley that the door boot is no longer available."
I respond to he's email asking whether he expects me to throw away a good machine just because a rubber is damaged. Rajen did not reply...
I have just spent an hour on the phone trying to get hold of Ricky Jacobs (service manager - CT) and Renier v Rensburg (manager - JHB), with no luck. The phones either don't get answered or I get put on hold indefinitely.
I have always had faith in AEG and cannot accept that I have to discard a good machine and buy a new one just because of a damaged rubber.
