Outrageous repair cost one month after warranty

Electronics and household app.

I am in the IT industry and I consider myself a Huge Samsung Fan hence supplying and recommending their products to all my clients.

How ever after I bought a R16 500 TV from Samsung this has been one of the most shocking and unfair situations I have ever endured.

My TV was connected to a surge plug and UPS as a precaution to insurance companies and damage to my electronics.

After 9 months the screen stared to go on and off whilst viewing, it was very random and progressively got worse.

When i finally decided to take my TV in for repairs I was told it would take two weeks max...

They also notified me that I was a month out of warranty and that after i bought my TV a year ago the month after Samsung Started with 2 year Warranties for the same model TV, but i shouldn't worry they will make a plan.

Took SAMSUNG 2 months to send insurance accredited repair report where they state
"Possible electric surge damage"

Now they want me to pay R2500 for the repair of the TV while the fault report is stating the impossible.

How is that possible if I have a surge plug and UPS connected to my TV to get surge damage since both the plug and UPS prevents it from happening.
