I was telephonically quoted a call out fee that excluded VAT without being told it excluded VAT - which is not in compliance with SARS regulations.
I was charged for an extra 30 mins (at R200) call-out, the time the driver took to phone Wesley and write out the invoice.
I disputed the amount, and paid what I felt was due - i.e. subtracted the VAT, and the additional 30 mins). Their response was horrific:
- They turned me over to a debt collection agency without even responding to my dispute
- I followed up with a number of mails highlighting the reasons for my dispute, as well as telephonically
- They did not respond to my concerns - merely stated that the amount was due
- They charged me for sms'es, letters etc that they sent to demand payment
- I was left with no choice but to pay, or face a tarnished credit record
