BE AWARE WHEN YOU ACCEPT A QUOTE FROM ROTO ROOTER

Booked a call for a blocked toilet at Roto Rooter. they came, gave a quote for R1410.00 to clear the toilet and an adjoining drain; "fixed" the blocked toilet, couldn't fix the blockage at the drain- they suspect a broken pipe underground and subsequently only charged 60% of quote for the toilet which they guaranteed the work on. The next day the toilet was blocked again and I call them back as THAT job was supposedly guaranteed. The plumber said he would again attempt to fix the drain as well but I would then have to pay the 40% "discount" from the previous quote. I said I don't have a problem IF they fixed both jobs and guaranteed the work. They managed once again to clear the blocked toilet but STILL COULDN'T CLEAR the 2nd job BUT insisted on payment! With no guarantee as they presume the pipe underground is broken and they have to dig it open to know for sure.! They subsequently quoted us R 8796.00 to dig, replace the pipe and clear the gully!!!
