Van Dyk Carpets
Bad Service and Incorrect / Misleading Invoicing

Construction & Repair

In the middle of May I contacted the recommended installer of Easigrass on the web site of van Dyk Carpets. In brief the installer: 1) was incapable of correctly estimating the length of product to be ordered I had to do it for him as he first underordered and then over-ordered, 2) did not understand that the mat had to be joined in a particular way and as a result the quantum ordered was short by 0.9m 3) did not arrive at the agreed time to do the installation 4) left unsupervised contactors at the site and never came back to inspect 5) left the contractors there with faulty equipment which first had to be repaired delaying the installation further 6) failed to provide a job card to the contractors who did not know where and how to install, leaving me to explain and supervise this 7) contractors tried to use building material that had been purchased by myself for another project, and only returned it when I complained 8) quoted that the product cost R390, per sq m, but failed to disclose on his invoice that the product with VAT cost R444.60 and attempted to get me to pay this after the installation irrespective of the fact that I had signed an invoice with a lesser amount.
