Hewlett Packard
HP DON'T SUPPORT THEIR CLIENTS

Computers & Services

I took out a contract with Vodacom yesterday for an HP250 Laptop. The laptop came pre-loaded with Windows 8 software and the HDD was partitioned to create a C and D drive. I am assuming that the software is sitting on the D Drive. All I want to know is how do I create a back-up CD or DVD in the event that the HDD crashes and I lose my operating system. On calling the technical support at HP, I first spoke to Tausees in the Home User section of HP who advised me that the laptop is a business laptop and that I should go through to the business section. I then called HP Business Section's technical support and spoke to a person by the name of Chetan. On both occasions, both Tausees and Chetan asked me for the laptop's serial number. The serial number has nothing to do with how I back up the operating system that came with the laptop. I was not provided with a CD or a DVD with my operating system and license number and to all intents and purposes, HP has an obligation to provide me with this software which they have not. I have always preferred HP products but it looks like I will have to switch to a company who can support their clients - HP DON'T!!!
