Battery Experts
Dishonest Company and Refusal to Refund Purchase

Computers & Services

Purchased a generic Apple Macbook Pro replacement battery from Battery Experts, on the basis that it would provide a similar or reasonably similar battery life to the original MacBook Pro battery, which lasts up to 6 hours. After receiving the battery and letting it charge for 12 hours, I was dismayed to find out that the battery lasts a maximum of 2 hours. After notifying the sales agent Leigh-Anne, she initially told me to let it charge and discharge several times, and after that did not work she said she would find out from the supplier how long it lasts. Eventually she confirmed that the maximum life of the battery is in fact 2 hours.

Battery Experts never made this clear before the purchase. When I queried this and requested a full refund, I received a impudent response from the company's owner Deon, absolving his company of all responsibility and eventually offering only a partial refund of the purchase. He then sent several further emails playing a bizarre game of semantics based on my original emails, trying to 'prove' that I was in the wrong, instead of taking responsibility and providing a full refund. As of yet, I have not been refunded for my purchase. Rather shocking
