HP swaps new printer for 2nd hand at repair centre

Computers & Services

Our HP Officejet Pro printer went in for repairs while still under its 1year warranty. On its return, the faulty motherboard had been replaced with a second hand motherboard, registered to a company in the Eastern Cape. Plus the serial number sticker had been taken off the back of our original printer and replaced onto the printer returned to us from the HP Repair Centre.

Not even a month later, the print heads on the printer returned to us broke. HP said to send it back to the repair centre. The printer has gone in for a 3rd time since March for repairs. I was also informed that HP repairs your printers with second hand parts and not new (which I discovered first hand)

After months of trying to get hold of someone at HP, when I finally did, they were not helpful. I confronted them about the second hand motherboard, different printer, serial no. swopping etc and have yet to receive an answer. All HP does is avoid the problem or pass it onto someone else who is unwilling to assist or even to cover up. I've requested a new printer and HP - in true style are avoiding the request.

I'm still waiting to hear an outcome from HP...
