Diesel Sneaker

I purchased a diesel sneaker a few weeks back. The sneaker has only been worn once. Today, as I was trying to wear the sneaker, I realized that it is torn. How can a sneaker that cost so much be torn after being worn once? Mind you, the sneaker was never washed before. Today was only my second time trying to wear it.
