Vehicle Quality and Repairs

Cars & Transport

I bought a Polo Vivo 1.6 8 months ago at Tavcor York in George. Since then I had the car in twice for various problems. The first was when the top gasket blew and I could not drive the car. The car was repaired under warranty but I could not be supplied with alternative transport and had to arrange my own transport to and from work for that week. The second time I was driving to Mossel Bay and the "EPC" light on my dashboard went on after which my car lost power. The repair done was on a faulty fuel injector and yet again I had to send the car in to Tavcor York for repairs and had to find my own way back to Cape Town and work for the next week. Now for the third time I have the same problem with the "EPC" light going on and this time my car will go to Volkswagen Claremont in Cape Town, who I hope will check out my car completely. Volkswagen, I am extremely unhappy since I think you sold me a car with known faults and I am worried that this may not be the end of it. Also I am worried that once my warranty expires, I will sit with a lot of expenses that I will not be able to cover. I may have to get the ombudsman involved to protect my rights.
