Volkswagen
Paying R5 300 Clutch repairs on a new ca

Cars & Transport

At 39650 KM, my VW Polo 2010 model has a clutch failure. i have had my licence in 2001, and have been driving since then, i never had or even heard of the same problem.
My car is under warranty, and i also have a maintenance plan on it. When i took the car to VW for repairs they charged me R 5 300.

they said neither my warranty or maintenance plan will cover the damages because it is seen as an abuse from my side. How possible is it to abuse a brand new car to an extend that it fails withing a quarter of its warrant period.it is unfair that the durability of the clutch is not even questioned here.

A week later i took the very same car for repairs on a starter. VW hatfied confirmed that the starter's valve was damaged and they repaired it free of charge. Now to me it is apparent that if one thing of the same car can fails, all the other parts are not immune to failure, so why should i pay.

To me this is unfair and day light? How do i abuse the car that i do not drive most of the time. Are the KM on the car telling them something?
