Fuel deposit

I rented a car from europcar on 11 March 2013 and paid a fuel deposit of R750.00 cash upfront. Te car was returned on 4 april 2013, a week earlier than planned. I was told that the deposit would be refunded within 24 hours once the vehicle had been checked and the fuel level checked. I filled the tank with fuel before returning the vehicle.
I have been to the office in Benoni on Monday 8 April 2013 and I was told head office needs to do the payment. again within 24 hours. i called again on Wednesday to the call centre (head office) and was assured that the money would be returned by Thursday or Friday. It is now Friday 12 April 2013 and I called the call centre again and was told that the branch needs to refund the money not head office. Head office tried to contact the branch but alas no answer from them either. I have been told that they will call me back by close of business today. Given my dealings so far I expect to be calling agin tomorrow and monday.
I have never experienced bad service like this from anyone.
