I had a problem with my battery and called BMW on call. They arrived at my offices and charged my battery and advised me to take my car to the closest battery fitment centre to have my battery tested and replaced. I took my car to a battery fitment centre as advised and replaced it with a new one. A few days later i began to excperience problems with my vehicle so i took it to BMW. BMW informed me that the battery fitment centre had put in the wrong battery and that i should go back to them for the right battery. i was given the option to have a BMW battery put in my car for R3500. I was also told that my battery was under mootr plan and that i should not have replaced it with a non-authorised battery. I have 2 issues with this:
1) Why was i advied by BMW on call to take my vehicle to the nearest fitment centre
2) Why would i pay for a BMW battery when my vehicle was still under motor plan
i called BMW SA and all they tried to do was avert fault by insinuating that i should have known that my battery was covered under my motor plan. Not once during this conversation did they try and understand the predicament that i was in. i was planning to buy a BMW for my wife but after this?
