Volkswagen
Unvailability of spares, bad attitude of staff

Cars & Transport

I have been trying for some time to get spares for my 1990 Citi golf 1.8 sport. The two dealerships I have approached have not even been able to supply me with part numbers, let alone supply the parts I need. There are tens of thousands (if not hunders of thousands) of citi golfs on the road. Why would they not keep spares for this vehicle? When calling the customer care line, I was not even able to get the phone number or e-mail address of the managing director of the company to voice my displeasure. "I'm sorry, he's not office bound" is the explanation I got. What a load of poppy! The man must have a phone number and e-mail address, office bound or not. Is he that afraid to to talk to the man on the street? Is he that afraid to hear what I have to say about his company. I would have thought, in the interest of customer service, he would at least listen to what his customers grievances are. I have been a loyal VW supporter all my life. I am quickly beginning to think I should change allegiances. Lets see if he has the guts to respond to this.
