Charged FOUR TIMES the contract amount

I recently hired a car for two periods in Cape Town, South Africa. The contract amount for the first period (4 days) was quoted as R900 and they charged me R1600. The quote for the second period (2 weeks) was R2500 and they charged me R8100. I did increase the second period by 3 days, but this should have made a small difference only.

I have written to Europecar for attention to this matter and they have not even had the decency to respond. I highlighted this on facebook and it seems this is a favourite tactic of Europecar's as many other people have had the same experience with them.
