Unauthorised Transaction Made without my Consent

I hired a car from Europecar in April 2013. Upon collecting the car I took the took the Tire & Window insurance option in case something happens to the car. The next morning I reversed and a side branch of a tree punctured the back window of the car. Immediately I drove back to Europcar at the Airport and exchanged the car for another vehicle. Upon arrival Europecar staff assisted and did the damage assessment with myself being present. The ONLY damage noted and RECORDED by the Europecar staff member was the damage to the back window. I agreed, signed and I still have the copy which only states damage to the window.

- 2 weeks later I get notified that I need to pay damages amounting to -R6400 for damage to the car. I rejected this since I only signed for damage to the window that was recorded. That damage could have been done to the car BY ANYONE AFTER I handed it over. Various emails were exchanged and I got limited response. Then I received a letter of demand telling me to pay within 14 days. I sent an attorney letter and the NEXT day Europecar took the -R6400 out of my credit card without my authorisation.

I still need a reply on my attorney letter!!!
