Road from the coast today. Popped in at a big Engen sign at Springfontein, OFS. Expecting decent Engen petrol station. Wanting petrol, break, food, smokes, etc. Immediately told they only accept cash or debit card. Then lady inspects my wallet to see that I have a suitable debit card. She keeps card in her hand while refilling. Not the card I wanted to use. Go inside. Not a nice shop - equals a tuck shop with no stock. Told again cash only. No cards. Draw money through non-affiliated bank. Buy stuff. Return to car. Paid cash. Left. Experience awful. Phone Engen to complain of my experience there. Felt it was totally sub standard. They duly lodge my complaint. About 2 hours later I get a call from the owner of the petrol station. No apology or attempt to appease me. Goes straight into how I am. How I told Engen stuff that wasn't true. Totally confrontational. Not listening to me. Complete denial that his service center sux. He justifies his bad service policies. I lost my rag with this guy told him his fortune. What a dog show of a conversation! Why is the Engen Complaint Line handing out my name and details to this thick skinned owner once a lay a complaint?!
