NO NO NISSAN DO NOT BUY ONE

My Nissan Qashqai developed a knocking noise on the shock absorbers at 35000 km. This was assessed by the dealer Auto Mall East London who quoted 3500 to repair as vehicle was out of warrenty. The dealer was not interested in raising the matter with Nissan on my behalf. The matter was repoted to Nissan Customer call centre and I received phone call to tell me that Nissan was not prepared to do anything as vehicle was out of warranty. I indicated that I was not happy as I felt the mileage was very low for shock absorbers to give problems. I later got another call to say that Nissan SA had spoken to the dealer who was prepare to give less 10% on spares. I refused and asked for the seniour manager Jacques Labotsky to become involved. I then got a call saying that Nissan would contribute 38% of the costs as a measure of goowill as the vehicle was out of waranty. I explained to Jacques that I had driver 19 diffrent vehicles (this one being the first Nissan) and had never had shock absorber problems before. I was told that is their final decision and I could raise the mattter with the Ombadsman. POOR QUALITY NEVER BUY NISSAN
