Cars & Transport

Towed my vehicle (Ford Fiesta 1.6 tDCi) in Sat 09 Nov
I explained to the 2 gentlemen that my car had died and it gave an error light on the dash, they guessed it might be the alternator that was giving problems, but the mechanics would only be able to have a look the Monday

12 Nov:
Phone call around 16:30, Glow Plugs are damaged and it must be replaced, it will cost around R3700.

15 Nov:
Phone call. Mechanic broke the Glow Plug off

19 Nov:
Phone call. They found a NEW fault. Alternator seems to be damaged and needs to be replaced. It will cost R5000 NOW my BILL is at R8700
When I brought the vehicle in the 9th its was already suspected that it could be the alternator, but it took 10 days to figure this out.

20 Nov:
Still trying to get the broken Glow Plug out.

25 Nov:
Phone call. Still cannot get the glow plug out. Its breaks off because it swells, so they drive the car a bit hoping that it will shoot loose. It hasn't, they now are going to strip the head, which takes 6 hours and it will cost ME an additional R3300 pushing my bill up to R12000.

My car has been there since 9th of Nov 2013. It's taken 17 days so far to repair something that actually takes 6 hours.
