GWM SA
FAULTY SPEED CONTROL - GWM FLORID

Cars & Transport

On the 28thof August 2012, I bought a GWM Florid car. After a few weeks of purchase, I experienced a seldom problem with the car where it was decreasing speed on its own, flashing an orange engine light. At first the engine light appeared when the car was on speed of 80km/h and above. With concern, I went to GWM Boksburg to book for car service. I was told to bring the car on the 15th of November 2012, for them to do the 20 000km service, do some checks and if there was anything faulty they will let me know. After service nothing was reported as faulty, I took the car home.
About two weeks after service the same problems occurred, I called GWM Boksburg to seek for help and Mr. Bashir told me to bring the car for him to test drive it. i took it in and they kept it for 3 days. He told me to pick it up as he could not detect anything. After few weeks the car had the same problem while i was driving and led to an accident as it was uncontrollable. I then took it in to GWM Edenvalle for them to fix the faulty speed control, they told me they could not do anything as the car was out of warranty. I then called Leon from GWM head office, who later on instructed GWM not to fix my car.
