Deposit not released after two weeks

I booked a car for rental through Discovery Vitality from 25 - 27 Sept 2013 and was quoted R578 for the rental. I returned the car on 27 Sept with a full tank of petrol. On 1 Oct an amount of R638.40 was deducted from my card by Europcar, but my deposit of R5000 was not released. On 1 Oct I sent a message through the enquiry form on the company's website, but got no response. I did so again on 4 October, again with no response. On 9 October I sent an email to [Email Removed] again asking about the rental amount and for my deposit to be released. I received a reply 26 hours later that my complaint was sent to Customer Care and that they will contact me - still no reply or money.

This company has very bad customer care and administration, as it is not my duty to keep chasing them to get my money back. It has been two weeks now that I have not had access to these funds in my bank account.

I deal with many international visitors and regularly make corporate rentals with the company too, but from now on I will advise everyone to stay well away from Europcar. I will not use or recommend them ever again.
