Renault cannot find fault on Laguna

Cars & Transport

I was advised by Renault that my card reader and card were faulty. I took the car to a keytronics specialist to reprogramme the parts instead, but he ended up damaging the electronics in my car. My bad decision. I took it back to Renault to see if they could locate the problem. They replaced the card reader and card. It did not start. They found that the fuse box and control box were tampered with. We supplied them with a working 2nd hand fuse box and ordered in a new control box to be installed. The car still won't start. They are still not sure what the problem is, but cannot be 100% sure as they DO NOT have an auto electrician on staff to test it. They are now suggesting I replace another part for R3000 to see if that might be the problem. They are guessing at faults at my expense and refuse to refund me if it turns out not to be the cause of the problem. My total expenses so far on the car is approx. R15 000. I cannot reach the Service Manager and I cannot be given a straight answer as to what is wrong with my car and when it will be ready... it's been there for 2 months already!!! Is it too much to expect the service centre to know their cars?
