On the 8th of January I took in my Renault Megane to Renault Bryanston because the brake pads were constantly making a squeaking noise consistantly at high speed and slow speed. They assured me that this would be resolved. I also had an issue with my navigation system as it was saying no maps found on the SD card. I received a call from the service adviser that I had damaged the SD card and that it would need to be replaced at a cool R3200 for an sd card!!! I proceeded to tell the gentleman that the only thing i had done was to do a map update from the Tom Tom website and it all went wrong after that. I was told by Renault SA that they had discussed this with the dealership and that it was indeed my problem and I need to pay R3200 to replace the SD card! Several days later Tom Tom released an update that resolved my issues. I feel that Renault never investigated the issue adequately and it almost cost me R3200. 110% not committed! Moving back to the brake pads, I was given back the car with squeaky breaks and told that there is nothing they could do. I asked to speak to the workshop manager and he rudely blew off my concerns about driving a car with brakes that were noisy.
