Charged for work not done

After taking car for service was advised that valve lifters needed replacing. Took the vehicle back for the said valve lifter replacement. Was advised then that there was cam damage and was given a price to repair. I balked at the price and said they were to do nothing. Was subsequently advised that as I had signed for the valve lifter replacement they were going to do that anyway. I had little option and agreed to the work being done. I have subsequently had the motor opened and have found to my horror that no valve lifter replacement was done. This all at a cost of R 9 300. Valve lifters charged at R 176.00 each when the price off BMW is R 176 per dozen.
