Toyota
Toyota Service Plan - Disappointing

Cars & Transport

Toyota service/maintanace plan did not cover the diesel filter on my 3.0d D4D Fortuner on the 90 000 km service. The dealer and Toyota SA confirmed that this filter is not covered on this service.
The filter light came on last Monday on the cluster.
Last Thursday the vehicle was booked in for the 90 000 km service.
I received the vehicle back on Thursday half serviced as I told the dealer not to replace the filter as I need to pay in the region of R750.00 for the filter.
The dealer was prepared to drop the labour of R380.00 for 5 min job.

I was not even a block away after collection of vehicle when the dealer phoned to find out if I am a happy customer.

Then on Friday I received another call and was offerd roadside assitance from Toyota. Guess what was my awnser. No thank you. I am not buying any product from Toyota to find out later when I need this it is not covered.

As a customer I am not happy to pay extra for a diesel filter on a service when the vehicle has a service plan and in the booklet it states that the filter is covered. The vehicle told me by means of the light iluminating on the cluster that there is a problem with the filter.
