Hyundai South Africa
Dealerships a rip off

Cars & Transport

I have a 2009 Hyundai 1.4 Getz with 58000 km on the clock. On the 7th Aug 13, my car broke down, there was a loud clacking noise coming from the front left wheel, the next day I could not go to work so phoned Hyundai assist as my car still had a warranty, the call centre guy I spoke to was helpful and friendly. Hyundai Airport dealership is my problem, they wanted to charge me R5865.00 for the towing of my car, labour and parts, something I could not afford as a broken calliper is not covered by the warranty, so it cost me R900.00 towing, labour and parts at a private workshop, and all because Hyundai didn't want to just replace the sleeve and bolts of my left calliper that broke but the whole hub! A calliper is something that never breaks and the last people that worked on my car was Hyundai Boksburg when I took my car for her 45000 km service, the bolts that held the calliper in place was completely stripped! I am sorry to say this, but Hyundai dealers are a total rip off and will nail you where they can. I will never take my car to a Hyundai dealer again even if it is my last option, I'd rather fix my car myself.
