Car Service City
Negligence nearly cost me my ca

Cars & Transport

I had my car serviced on the 17th of July (60 000 km major service, White VW Polo 1.6, 2009 model) as I had to leave back to Cape Town on the 19th of July to be back at work on the 22nd of July. Shortly after passing through the toll gate in JHB I noticed smoke coming from my exhaust, thinking it was due to the engine flush done during the service. I discovered in Bloem that there was NO OIL in my car which could have resulted in serious engine damage. I had to pour 3-4 pints of oil every 200 km just to make it to my hometown of Oudtshoorn where VW had to fix YOUR mistake (replacing the washer on the sumplug and actually CLOSING IT). I still have all the receipts of the unnecessary expenses I had to pay for. The person that worked on my car should be FIRED. I was lucky enough to make it back home with no damage (yet). The next person might not be so lucky.
