Bought an ignition but the barrel is faulty

I went to Barloword and bought a new ignition. Before I left the premises I discovered that the barrel is faulty and appears to be a reconditioned part. The staff was extremely unhelpful and refused to exchange the part or to assist me with my problem. They implied that this is now my problem!!
