Offer to purchase means nothing to these guys!!!

Nine days ago I went to Automac in Diep River and started the process of buying a VW Kombi from them. I got an offer to purchase (which as I understand it is an indication that I am serious about buying) and I started to get financing. The financing took longer than I expected. Today I went to the dealer to make sure that all is still right with the deal, but to my surprise I was told they had sold the vehicle already!
When I asked him why he did not call me and give me an option in it or why I was not warned that they have another buyer he just shrugged his shoulders and said they had a discussion about it and decided to sell.
If they wanted I would have given the deposit, no problem!
No, I have waisted so much time getting all the documents and everything financing a car that is not for sale.
DO NOT TRUST AUTOMAC!!!
