Dissapointed

Cars & Transport

I applied for finance on a Isuzu Double cab 240 LE at the Princes Benoni branch after it was decided that I would trade my other vehicle in to secure the deal. My application was approved through Wesbank and I therefore received a call on Friday the 21st of June late afternoon to confirm this. I was also informed of my payment options and interest rate offered by the bank. The financing of the vehicle was approved the very same day the application was lodged.
The person whom called me said I should wait until after the weekend and Enock the sales person responsible for the sale would call me with further details.
At approximately 4pm on Monday the 24th I received a phone call from Enock explaining the vehicle had been sold from under me. His reason was that the deal took too long. He also attempted to offer me a range of alternative vehicles which were not even in the same price range or model. I fail to see this as a valid reason as I had already secured approval through Wesbank and was told to wait for further information.
Is it normal practice to promise a client a product he wishes to purchase and then sell it to someone else?
