Extremely slow turnaround time

I booked my car in a month and a day ago, as i had a minor accident. It took them 3 weeks to wait for parts, and now that they do have the parts, they have not started yet and its almost 5 weeks of waiting. I have no transport, it's very difficult now. I give them weekly calls to follow up and get told it will be done the current week when they have time! Is more than a month really the norm for fixing cars? I mean my damage is not even that bad!
