Kia Motors South Africa
Bad service and inflated pricing

Cars & Transport

I went to collect my daughter's Daihatsu Sirion from the above dealer who had to replace the battery. We found that the alarm wasn't working (although it worked fine before the car went in) and when we complained, Imo, the foreman, said that we had to go to Motorola to re-set the alarm as this had nothing to do with the battery that they replaced. Then we saw the radio was also not working. Again we complained and a mechanic came to investigate. He said there was a problem with a fuse. Eventually this was seen to and then the alarm and radio worked fine. We asked for a guarantee for the battery and were promised it would be e-mailed that day when the dealer received it from a local battery place. (The dealer bought it in from a local battery outlet). It still hasn't arrived. I phoned a battery outlet in Edenvale to price this battery that Kia charged R780 for plus R275 for fitting plus vat (total R1202.70) I was quoted R635 for the battery and free fitting and this includes vat. My husband left two messages for manager Ronnie to call back - both were ignored. I am so angry with dealer for shoddy service, overcharging and not keeping promises made.
