Volkswagen
Customer "Care"?

Cars & Transport

Reported to the VW Customer "Care" line that my son has been having a persistent issue with his Golf 2.0 FSI from the time it was under motorplan. Lately the issue has been getting worse and he took it into VW Fourways. They billed him R1200 to tell him that they thought the issue was X but it might be Y and that the repair could cost anything from R20, 000 to R57, 000 and even then it might not be fixed. Foolishly I assumed that VWSA might actually be interested in helping to ascertain what the issue actually is so that we can take a view on whether to repair it, trade it in etc. I dealt with a Shoonaaz (?) at VWSA who merely referred us to Hatfield VW in Bryanston. They charged my son a further amount to tell him what they thought the issue is (R27, 000 this time). We requested that they look at trading it in. I tried to call Shoonaaz on Monday and again yesterday. It is clear that her version of customer care belongs in a banana republic since she has apparently washed her hands of the matter. And Hatfiled VW? They haven't even bothered to come back with a trade in valuation. It is amusing VW adverts preach "customer for life". What jokers!
