Rocket fails to launch

Having had an underwhelming experience when I first visited the restaurant soon after it opened, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and attributed the tardy service, unimpressive food, and warm beer to 'opening night jitters'. However, several months since then, my recent visit to Rocket in Pankhurst Johannesburg, left as bad a taste on my palate as their steak did. Overall, the experience was nothing to write home about - unless you wish to warn friends and kinfolk against spending quality time at a restaurant which seems to have a half-baked idea of hospitality and service. The waiters where sluggish with their service and did not seem perturbed by constant feedback about their lacklustre attitude. When the food eventually arrived, the over-kill steak - which was ordered medium, was shockingly lacking in flavour. When this, and other observations were brought to the attention of the manager, he was instead defensive and blamed the poor service on over-worked employees, reporting that 'service on a Sunday is usually poor because of the shift load on the staff'. Needless to say, I have since decided to write home and forewarn anyone against going to Rocket.
