Last night, January 5th 2014, I filled petrol to the value of R130. I used my debit card to make payment, which was immediately debited from my account (I received notification from Std Bank via sms) however, according to the attendant, the transaction "did not go through on their system, so you must swipe again and the transaction will automatically be reversed". I then went inside to pay at the cashier terminal - only to be told the same thing. Before I agreed to swipe my card again, I asked the attendant whether the original transaction really would be reversed, to which she confirmed, adding that if the amount was not reversed the following day, I must simply return to the station with my receipts and the supervisor would refund me. So, I swiped my card a 2ndtime, HOWEVER, the exact same occurred - a second amount of R130 was debited from account, but "didn't reflect on their system". I then had to withdraw a further R130 from the ATM in order to pay in cash. I once again asked that failing a reversal of the total amount of R260 by the next day, that I would be eligible for a refund by the supervisor, - to which "Feziwe" assured me I would. Today, however they refuse to do so!!
