Discrimination and poor service

I went to have dinner at Spiga this evening as I've done many times before. There were no tables available so I put my name down and was told I will wait 40 minutes. I then waited for over and hour. When I went downstairs to hand back the pager device I found that 5 more tables had been given to people who came after me. How is that possible. The waiter gave a feeble excuse and was not apologetic at all. Are we still looking at people's race first before we offer them service?
